THE HUMANBEHIND THE TERMINAL.
I don’t just learn cybersecurity. I learn how systems think, fail, and defend themselves.
I’m Ismael Barrantes, a cybersecurity professional focused on understanding systems from both sides of the attack surface.
My work and learning combine defensive security, ethical hacking, Red Team methodology, threat modeling, network security, Linux, cloud security, and security architecture.
I’m especially interested in the technologies that are changing what cybersecurity looks like next: artificial intelligence, connected vehicles, software-defined systems, automation, and emerging attack surfaces.
For me, cybersecurity is not about collecting tools or running commands. It is about understanding why a system works, questioning where trust exists, finding what could go wrong, and building something more resilient afterward.
Security starts with curiosity.
I like taking systems apart conceptually, understanding their architecture, identifying trust boundaries and asking the question that drives security research:
